The Nation Archives Museum: More than just documents

Nadia Tewolde

Tourists come to the National Archives Museum with the intention that the only thing they’ll see is historic documents and only documents. But they forget that history also includes art. At the National Archives in downtown Washington, DC, Education specialist, Katie Munn, directed a group of student journalists from Capital Student News. Throughout their visit, she gave students insight of the Archives and showed copies of the historic documents that people come into the Archives to see. In addition to their mini tour, Munn featured in the interviews the students conducted to explain the Archives in depth. Trusting Mann’s expertise in history, one of the reporters asked a question regarding what Art has to do with history and Munn responded “Art is definitely a part of history.”
